WW1 U.S. Military large frame double-action service revolver chambered in .45 Automatic, manufactured in Hartford, CT in 1919. Features a blued finish,sides of hammer polished, 5.5" round tapered barrel, large blade front sight,"u" notched rear sight, fluted six-shot swing-out cylinder, non-shrouded ejector rod, smooth trigger, checkered hammer spur, steel frame with lanyard ring on the butt and smooth wood grips. Markings: Frame - "3", “U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1917" on heel, Barrel - "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", "COLT'S PT FA. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT U.S.A./PATD AUG 5.1884 JUNE 5 1900 JULY 4 1905", "COLT D.A.45". Matching serial numbers on frame and crane. "Rampant Colt" and eagle head "S20" proof on left frame. Revolver retains approximately 85% of its blued finish with slight tracking on the cylinder, holster/edge wear, handling wear on the straps. Action is sound with a tight lock-up, the bore is very good/bright. The grips are very good with a few scratches. The revolver comes with a grip adapter and 3 moon clips.
